Long weekends always mess me up. This one was a bit worse because we missed church on Sunday. Jim had gotten a tummy ‘thing’ on Saturday and Saturday night I ate a huge helping of sour cream dip with chips. I know better. Sour cream and other fatty foods are problem causers when you’ve had your gallbladder removed. I was sick within about 4 hours and didn’t feel perfectly normal until today. Nothing awful but I sure couldn’t go anywhere. Jim was better within a day and never felt bad, just stuck at home.
It was cool when the dogs woke me at 7:00 and when I put them out, they began to play so I laid back down for an hour or so. When I let them in, Emmie was covered in dirt and didn’t smell very good. Jim was just about to get in the shower, so I asked him could we bathe them before he got cleaned up. Emmie only shows dirt on her feet and her fur doesn’t seem to trap the clay dust, but Daisy was horrible. We rinsed her really well before starting to bathe her and yet when I put the soap on and began to wash her, the clay dust was all over her skin. They look so pretty now.
Emmie’s nails were long. She hadn’t had them done in a while so I called and Banfield said to ‘come on down’. I gave her medicine for car sickness, took my shower and we ran her over and got them done. They wrap her in a blanket and let one leg stick out at a time or she’ll fight and end up scratching someone. We’ve never had luck doing her nails at home. They can’t use the Dremel. We have a Pet Dremel, too. The minute she hears the sound, she goes crazy. So I pay $11.00 a few times a year and have them done by the vet.
Cooler weather will move in this week. We already have our windows open all the time but if the sun is very bright, we use the window units in the two front rooms that get sun from about 2:00 until sunset. I have one on tonight, but on a low setting just to keep it from being uncomfortable. I’d sit outside, but the mosquitoes are bad today.
Jim’s working on some stuff for school and Nick’s playing a game. I just finished cleaning up after supper. We had BBQ chicken breasts, peas and mashed potatoes. I ate half a chicken breast and small servings of everything else. The tummy thing made me lose 3 lbs.
I’m picking up Erin early tomorrow and we’re going to run some errands. She has no fall/ winter clothes. Greyhound lost her boxes when she came down and never found them. She hadn’t thought she’d need insurance, but she lost almost everything she owned. She wears size 4 juniors/ 5 JP and they’re very hard to find in consignment shops. She’s about the same height as me, but I got rid of my small clothes years ago.
Wow, the pollen is already in the medium high range here! I don’t SEE ragweed blooms, but there are a few other weeds that cause problems here in the fall.
I haven’t been coloring at night for a few months. I skipped it one night and just forgot about it or would stay up too late to do one. They’re so relaxing. I need to start coloring again. What made me think of it is thinking of pictures to color to go along with our 2nd grade Sunday School class. I try to find unique things the kids will enjoy but that can blend with our lesson.
Last year Scott, Brandi and Andrew came for Labor Day weekend and we had a big cook out. Wow has Andrew grown up!
2017 LABOR DAY WEEKEND
He’s quite a little man now! He’s just a bundle of joy!
Well, this is short, but I’ve got some things to do. Hope you had a good day, however you spent it and see you soon for
