Happy 47th Anniversary to my precious husband, Jim! I cannot imagine being without you. It feels like we’ve always been together, like there was no life before there was ‘us’. Tonight we’ll go out to dinner. I haven’t had a chance to talk to Jim today, but I am guessing Longhorn’s. We’ve gone to Longhorn’s for our anniversary dinner for MANY years now.
What an ugly week we’ve had! Actually, it’s been an ugly summer with loads of storms and rain. It was hot, too, tho not as hot as last year. I had to turn the central air back on. Even the nights were hot and humid! We’ve had trouble sleeping all night long with this heat. I really wish Georgia had nicer weather. You’d think I’d be used to it after living in the south until I was almost 20 and then being back here for 23 years. A few years were in Florida, too, so we lived up north about 20 years at the most during Jim’s time in the Army and then almost 13 years in Connecticut. Love the weather. Love the scenery. Dislike the liberal mindset and lack of Baptist (real Baptist) churches.
I had my visit with the oncologist’s Physician’s Assistant this morning and blood work done. My CBC was perfect. Now to wait on the results of the CEA for tumor markers. I can’t say I don’t worry at all, but I’m doing okay. Tumor markers start to rise four to 8 months before anything can be seen on a scan. I’m so far out that my doctor doesn’t expect my cancer to ever return.
I woke with a head cold yesterday and am not 100% today, but it’s all sneezing and alternates between a runny nose and stuffy nose. The headache is gone and I don’t feel bad and my throat is no longer sore. I got my flu shot while at the doctor’s office. The CDC says you can get the vaccine as long as you aren’t running a temperature.
I know this was short, but Jim will be home soon and I just wanted to share our special day with all of you. I’ll let you know when my blood work is back so come back soon for
