Not much going on right now but it’s finally starting to cool down a bit. The nights are nice. I turned off the central air and will have Jim or Nick take the window unit out of the the TV room window this weekend. Now I really, really need to do some fall cleaning before it’s gets late in the season and is time to decorate for Christmas.
I have my fall decorations out of the bin and need to decide where each piece will go this year. Since we did away with one bookshelf, I have less room for things. I’ll just have to figure it out as I go along.
Erin’s gone for a few days. She’s been staying here more than at her place with Jon and Mary because she doesn’t have transportation and I’m taking her to her jobs. She’s in Atlanta for a two day ‘gig’ with Paw Patrol and Rusty Rivet and then has work almost every day very close to me through Nov. 3rd. When she’s so close, I drop her off and come home.
Nick went to New England to see his buddies for a week. I sure did miss him! They went to The Big E. Wasn’t what he expected, tho. He wasn’t impressed and they got bored very quickly. He came home with allergies. By yesterday he was feeling pretty good, tho. He got it under control and caught up on his sleep.
Jim’s doing well. He goes to bed earlier than he used to, but he’s still waking up as if he had to drive the long trip to Euharlee instead of 15 minutes from home.
Tomorrow Jim’s going over to his friend’s house and they’re going to put rear brakes on the truck. Darryl is awesome and he’s got all the equipment they need to do the job. He’s such a funny guy. He makes Jim laugh so hard. They’re friends from church.
I love the fall. It’s still too warm by late afternoon, but the nights are cool and that means it won’t be long now. I’m switching my summer clothes over and they’ll go into my storage bins as my fall and winter clothes come out. Winter clothes in Georgia really aren’t ‘winter’ clothes, other than colors. They can be fall and spring clothing.
My decorations are calling my name, wanting to be put in place. I will get them put up and out this weekend. I need Jim to help me with the garland that goes over my front door. I switch from spring/summer to fall, to Christmas.
I’d like to try something. I’d like to work on Daisy sleeping on a bed and not in her ‘castle’. It’s a plastic playpen style dog pen and it’s quite large so it takes up a lot of space in my bedroom. Emmie is tiny and her crate is the medium sized. Plenty of room for her. I’d try leaving her out, too, but she likes to get on our bed. When she jumps down, she splats and I’m afraid she’ll break a leg since the floor is not carpeted and is slippery to my tiny girl. She’d probably bug us at night, too, demanding belly rubs or nose kisses. I think I’ll buy Daisy a nice thick bed and try first to leave her door open and then let her nap on just the doggie bed and see how it goes. I’ve actually napped and let them go in and out of their beds and our bedroom and they ended up sleeping on the floor in the hallway. It’s just my room seems cramped and it’s getting close to time to put up my Christmas trees.
Jim had bus or walker duty this afternoon but he should be home any minute now. I haven’t decided what I want for supper. It’s always hectic on Friday nights because of all the families who go out before the local football games.
Well, Guess I didn’t have much to say today, but just wanted to check in and say hello and let you know we’re doing well. My 6 month visit with my oncologist is next Tuesday (Oct. 10th). This time will be my first time to have only blood work and see the Physician’s Assistant instead of scans. It’s been 5 1/2 years since my liver resection and almost 9 years since my original colon cancer diagnosis. Praying that my blood tests are all good news with a good / low reading on tumor markers (CEA). I’d appreciate your prayers, too. God has been so very good to us!
I’ll be back soon and we can have
