Happy 90th Birthday to my Daddy!
Erin and I are watching Charles Dickens’ ‘Christmas Carol’ tonight. It’s the one with George C. Scott as Scrooge and our favorite. Jim’s loading the car because he’s going to record the Central Middle School Winter/ Christmas Concert tomorrow night and can’t take his gear in his truck bed.
Oh his way home from school, Jim stopped at Empire Jewelers in one of the strip malls by O’Charley’s here in Villa Rica and picked up my emerald and diamond ring he got me for our wedding anniversary in 2016. I’d lost an emerald and asked to have it repaired and the whole ring re tipped. It’s a vintage ring, modeled after an Elizabeth Taylor piece from the late 1970’s with 12 emeralds and 5 diamonds. I love the old style and only like yellow gold. I’m an old fashioned gal!
We have a chance of snow! One map says 1 plus inch. The other says 5 inches. An earlier model said 11 inches. It’s 30 plus degrees colder today than it was yesterday. I like the cold weather! It feels more like Christmas! Bring on the snow!
I went to the dentist yesterday because of some discomfort in a molar. The cleaning found some sharp plaque and once it was removed, the discomfort went away. No cavities!
Next week is crazy fun! Tuesday is our night to decorate cookies with our children we bought Christmas for. I probably won’t be able to ‘see’ our child. We chose a little girl and since we’d bought her a huge gift, I’d notified the school to let her parents know they’d need room to carry her gifts home or we could help transport it. Both parents work 2nd shift so said she probably won’t be able to come.
Wednesday is our Family FX Experience called ‘Pancakes and Pajamas’. We’ll all wear pajamas and eat pancakes then go into the sanctuary for games and the Christmas Story. The games are based on God’s generosity of sending his son to die for us. I got some new jammies.
Thursday is Jim’s Christmas Party for the school and it’s at The Lazy Donkey in Carrollton. They have awesome food.
Friday is our Life Group Christmas Party. We’re to take some sweet tea and either appetizers or dessert. We love that group and have so much fun.
Nothing on Saturday! If the weather is clear, Jim and I can run and pick up some gift cards and more.
Sunday is church and Sunday night is Christmas Caroling and our Children’s Ministry Workers Christmas Party with another group of wild and crazy people!
Jim has only 7 more school days before his long winter’s nap (Christmas vacation) which includes a colonoscopy. LOL! Oh, and Nick and I have our shared birthday while he’s off. I’ll be 67 and Nick will be 23.
Speaking of Nick, his girlfriend is coming in May to spend a week so they can go to Momocon and we can meet her in person. I’m really looking forward to meeting her!
Well, I wanted to share the photo of my Daddy taken at a surprise party for him and get you caught up on my day to day life.
See you soon for
