I was looking at an old email today and realized we’re 14 days away from being at Ephesus Baptist Church 7 years. Wow…….. how quickly time has flown! We have some wonderful friends there and we love being in Life Group. I do miss working with the children. They’re such sweet little people, but it was time to move on.
I volunteered to be the Event Planner for our Life Group for the coming year. We’ll have a (Non) Super Bowl Party on Feb. 4th and a party for 3 college graduates whose parents are in the class in April. I’m going to check into John Tanner Park for that one. There’s swimming, paddle boats, putt putt, fishing, grills and loads of trees. Last time we went, it was $5.00 per carload. The church has a picnic usually in May. We could do an early 4th of July cookout. I’ll be taking suggestions! The most would be around 25 to 30 people including a few toddlers.
If you aren’t a Facebook friend, and I had deleted about 200 in December, you might not know my thyroid biopsy results of the needle aspiration of the cyst was totally benign. I’ll have an ultrasound at 6 months and if the nodules haven’t grown, I’ll probably not go back unless I have symptoms, according to Dr. Gambrell. I’ll see my primary for my under-active thyroid. I’ve been on medication for about 8 weeks now.
It’s so nice to see the sun! I do wish the wind would die down so we could sit outside. It’s a bit chilly in the wind, but it’s high 50’s.
My pinkie ring was ready at Empire Jewelers this afternoon and I picked it up. It’s my Valentine’s Day Gift and it’s so pretty.
Tomorrow we’re going to take down the garland and lights around the front door and down the stairs outside. I’ve gotten some heavy garment bags for my wreaths because I’ll need to hang them in the storage area on the front of the garage since I took over the closet under the stairwell as my craft/ sewing room. (Room is a major exaggeration!) Then we’ll take down my tall thin Christmas tree in my bedroom and bring up the bins for me to begin the huge formal tree. Our usual timing is ‘before Valentine’s Day’. It used to be ON Super Bowl Sunday and I’d do it while the boys watched the game. Since we’ve been at Ephesus we always go to a party that day.
Once it’s all down, I’ll bring out the spring things, which include some Valentines, St. Patrick’s Day and Easter decor. It’s just a few of each so I can easily rotate those.
Jim has some work to do on the book he’s finishing tonight so we’re going to eat now. Hope you had a lovely day and see you soon for
